Agibot and Chimelong Group have deployed more than 300 robots at Chimelong Spaceship Park in China, putting the systems to work for entertainment, education, visitor services and hotel operations. The deployment also coincided with Agibot delivering its 20,000th production robot to Chimelong, according to Chinese tobotics company.
The robots are being used for live entertainment, science education, guided tours, retail service stations, AI companion experiences, hotel services and sports competitions. Agibot indicated the launch marks the first phase of the companies’ embodied AI deployment at the park and will serves as the foundation for additional robot deployments across Chimelong’s entertainment and hotel.
Putting Robots to Work Across the Park
The robots are taking on both entertainment and service roles rather than operating as standalone demonstrations as visitors can interact with robots through table tennis, manipulation challenges and educational activities. Other systems answer questions, introduce exhibits, provide directions and guide guests through the park. Robots also perform martial arts, gymnastics and tai chi, according to the company.
In hotel and companion settings, the robots can welcome guests and conduct multi-turn conversations. Multi-robot performances combine the systems with human performers, music and lighting.
Agibot and Chimelong also announced a joint research institute focused on embodied AI applications in culture and tourism. The institute will use operating experience from the deployment to study more uses, technologies and operating models for entertainment and hospitality.
Infrastructure for a 300-Robot Fleet
Running hundreds of robots in a public venue requires infrastructure beyond the robots themselves so Agibot, Chimelong and China Mobile established a dedicated 5G-A network to provide connectivity in high-traffic areas. A centralized coordination system manages robots operating across the park and hotel environments, the company pointed out.
The deployment also includes systems and procedures covering network security, privacy protection, charging and fire safety.
Chimelong Group is a Chinese cultural tourism and entertainment company founded in 1989 that operates large-scale theme parks, resort hotels, live entertainment, restaurants, convention facilities and educational attractions. The company operates three major resort destinations in Guangzhou, Hengqin and Qingyuan, with nine theme parks, nine resort hotels totaling more than 10,000 rooms and three international circus theaters.
